Dynamo C40

Post by Brett »

I've rebuilt my dynamo but I doubt about the washers. I have taken hundreds of pictures of the disassembly of the car but forgot to take pictures when working on the dynamo.
I have the spacing washer that goes inside the end plate and one more washer and then the fan and the pulley.
When the dynamo is installed on the engine, I have approximately a 2 mm gap with others pulleys. When you face the engine, the dynamo pulley is too far on the right.
If I remove the thin washer, the fan blades touch the end plate.
What's wrong ? Any help appreciated.
Thanks.

There was a discussion recently about new dynamos, you may find your answer there.

Thanks ;)

Problem solved now. It was just a washer problem. The original bearing has the sides opened with whashers to protect from dust. The new bearing is sealed so I couldn't use the same washers.

Now it's ok and pulleys are in line.
