Cosmic Rim Question 5"x10" ???????
I have a chance to purchase a used set of (I believe they are original) Cosmic Rims. The seller thought the width was 4.5" but after removing the tyre the width turned out to be 5". I looked at Mark's online Cosmic catalogue but I did not see any reference to a rim that was made with a 5" width. Does anyone recognize the rim and can you confirm what style the rim is and if they in fact made a 5" width rim for this specific style? In addition, would this rim fit a 62 Austin Countryman estate model without the wheel protruding pass the wheel well?

I can't be sure about that particular model of Cosmic, but I have six 5x10 Cosmics of a later design (Mk2 I think - kind of similar in a way to Dunlop D1s). I had them fitted to my '64 Traveller without arches. I'm running with drums but have fitted MG Metro rear drums with the built in spacer. They do sit out very slightly at the front but the timber on the back does act as a bit of a flare I suppose.

Did you measure the total width or the width at the 'shoulder/tyre bead?

Recheck the dimensions ar per Jan's suggestion.
The wheel is a 4 inch wide Cosmic RW 10. The wheel in the pic has been painted, it should be in a natural finish. The 4.5 inch version is the RW10S, designed to fit over the S brakes. They are of a slightly different design. I will post some pics later today.

The seller has checked the rim to see if it has the size marked inside the rim. The inside of the rim doesn't have the COSMIC name or the part number on it. Can this rim be a copy and not an authentic Cosmic Rim?

Early Cosmics were not branded. I did manage to upload pics to your post on the Mini Mania site, but I'm having trouble compressing them to fit here.
