SU BURLEN PUMPS
Hi everyone
Q. Has anyone had issues with the “new” su pumps made by burlen?
I have had issues with 2 new ones on my a35 van (puller) and now on my 1071 (pusher).
All tanks are clean, and cars running on E5 with miller’s octane booster.
Cheers Paul

Re: SU BURLEM PUMPS
I have had 2 on my a35 just given up the ghost both brand new, and now on my 1071.
I have isolated the problem by changing the pump, and the issue goes away.
I’m just wondering if it’s the crap fuel out there causing it? As it goes off within a month?

Re: SU BURLEM PUMPS
If you think it might be the fuel going off, try some of this stuff when you park up

I couldn’t get an electronically switched version to work properly so reverted to the classic point type which has provided stirling service..

Re: SU BURLEM PUMPS
Funnily enough had one pack up today, not sure how new it is but guess the last year or so. Just doesn't suck up fuel(Lines are clear, fuel in tank etc) Had it apart and can't see any issues, ordered new valves and sealing washers so will give that a try. Most of their pumps seem to be out of stock atm. Electrically seems fine. Other than that they seem fine, fitted plenty.

Re: SU BURLEM PUMPS
I have had about 3 or 4 brand new Burlen pumps fail over the last few years. I try to avoid them now.

Cheers for that, didn’t realise that they had a spec sheet.
PSI is well suited to SUs and Webers, got to be better that whacking an SU pump with a hammer, especially on a road car.
