Clutch master cylinders

Post by mk1 »

Does anyone know if the 1100 / 1300 clutch master cylinder is a different bore to the one fitted to the Mini.

I had a leaky clutch master cylinder after Blyton & when I came to re seal it this week, a normal repair kit wouldn't fit as the bore of the master cylinder I was re sealing was .7" where as the normal clutch master cylinder bore is .7 and a bit.

It was not an insurmountable problem as I could fit a set of .7" seals from a brake master cylinder & all is now fine, but I have been left wondering why this issue cropped up.

It is CERTAINLY a clutch cylinder, but is also certainly NOT a "normal" Mini one.

Any suggestions?

Yes they are different. Mini was 3/4" (19mm), 1100 was 0.7" (18mm)
