Does anybody have a 22g288 available or a solution to modifying another part to fit a 1275 cooper "s" engine,
Thanks,

Re: 22g288 replacement
It’s the mid 60’s transfer gear casing for 3 synchro gearbox, with the smaller bearing hole for the idler shaft.
It superseded the 22A108 that was used on Cooper 997 and 1071 S, Austin America and 1275 S until mid 60’s, and is identical except for the thick rib across the top of the 22A108 case is removed on the smooth case 22G288.
But IIRC all the pre-A+ housings are pretty much interchangeable, even those for 4 synchro pre-A+ boxes, as long as you match the correct idler bearing size and fit the appropriate circlip arrangement for the long vs short idler gear shafts.
As with all machined castings the tolerances can add up in opposite directions, so if swapping parts from different units you may need to re-align (see this link) the two halves by moving the dowel positions, to ensure the idler and gearbox input spigot bearings run true.

Re: 22g288 replacement
Just to provide a few more options, you can use an A+ Transfer housing, with this bearing assembly;-
