Hi all,
I am trying to identify for certain whether I have a thick or thin AEG312 1275s block.
I know the difference is the width of the mating flange to gearbox, but what are the dimensions please, or better still does anyone have photos that easily shows each type?
I have seen other peeps mention they have a thin flange block and the engine has never been removed. How can they be certain of which they have, bearing in mind the changeover is not difinitive?
All help appreciated
Thank you
How do you identify a thick or thin flange block?

Thank you very much.
I have completely misunderstood as I thought it was the width across the mating face to the gearbox and hence why you get 3 gaskets in a sump set, one wide (thick) and one narrow (thin)
I might be getting on in years but still learning new things every day.

I have a thick flange 1275 S' block which is nearer to 3/4" thick.
