Thanks Craig.

I phoned ARP earlier today....they were not very helpful....said they did not supply the bolts!!
Dug around and discovered these are ARP bolts but sold by Mini Mania in California.
Phoned them...unlike ARP...were very helpful.
Here is what they suggest.
55lbs using regular oii as a lubricant...46 lbs using the ARP lubricant that is supplied with the bolts.
That is the same as stated in the BMC workshop manual for S rods.
I went with the 46lbs.

From what I understand ARP bolts should tightened down using a stretch gauge not a torque wrench.

Previously discussed by Spider, with a copy of the ARP sheet:

Nothing new there then, the same as ABINGDON in the 60's and GEC Paxman. 8-)

I have heard about rod bolt stretch gauges but never seen one being used, or even seen an example of the instrument itself.

For those in a similar boat to me this simple straightforward explanation and demonstration of its use was of interest.

My friend has and uses one for his hill climb car. Think it came from ARP or Arrow, not sure.

That’s true but even more importantly, the rods should always be resized after fitting the bolts.
