Kad quick shift for remote boxes

Post by mk1rally »

It's a genuine one before anyone asks but are they always so tight to start off? Do they bed in? And yes I applied some grease!!

Yes... and yes.

I found new synchros made a noticeable improvement. Quikshifts are not sympathetic to notchy boxes....

I hated mine originally - but couldn't change it because I couldn't get the the bigger (or is it smaller??) nylon cup out of the shift mechanism. Now I'm glad I persevered - wouldn't be without it.

Cheers, Ian

Cheers, bit more happy about that. It seemed very tight but with a bit more grease and playing with it, it seems to get a bit better.

Kad stuff is renown for being pretty good and I've heard stories (and witnessed, ended up throwing it away!) the cheaper ones and hence the spend on the better one.

Just got to get used to it now, it's only had the other one in it for 20 odd years I've owned it!
