I have managed to source an sa12 coil to replace the 80s gold sports coil on my mk2, I run an Aldon ignitor, it appears the sa12 is 2.7 ohms according to specs, is this ok with the ignitor as I seem to remember it recommends a coil of 3ohm resistance, I could change back to points if necessary, but the ignitor has been very reliable so far and if I can retain it I would prefer to.
Thanks

Re: Sa12 coil
I ran a low resistance coil plus a ballast resistor which totaled about 2.25 ohms with a "Pertronics" Ignitor with no problems, so your 2.7 ohms should be OK.
