Thread size for original Paddy Hopkirk pedal

Post by Andrew1967 »

Need to get some new threaded screws and nuts for the original PH throttle pedal that is going back into HOY.

Any idea on the thread size ? I'm presuming BA ?

Could get something from my local fasteners (probably metric) but not passing that way any time soon and might be easier just to get from the usual internet site.

Andrew, i think your correct re BA .. also get nylock nuts to back up the thread as they can strip within that horse shoe type backplate .

Hmm, there's no thread there anyway Norman and there were nuts on the old screws that I end up shearing off as sized solid. Nylocs a good idea anyway.

Wondering what size BA ?

I'd say 4BA at a guess and scaling-up. If you're stuck, come back to me Andy

Will do Peter. :)

I’d say it’s max 2mm diameter, probably only 1.6 or 1/16 so probably 3 or 4 BA, having found some info on the net

If it is 4BA then the long imperial rounded/machine head bolts used to fit switches and plugs to the sockets in the wall are 4BA Andy. I've got a zillion nuts
