Hi Folks,
I'm continuing the research into what the Mk2 850 Super Deluxe i have is "missing" after all these years, and pretty much the most obvious one is the bulkhead soundproofing pad.
I understand from the excellent "Factory-Original Mini Mk1 & Mk2" book i now have, the super deluxe should have the same bulkhead mat as the Mk2 Coopers etc.
The pictures i have are of a reasonably thick felt pad, with a heavily textured vinyl covering in Black. I have seen a couple of the excellent resto's on here showing them as well.
Big question is, who can supply the original finish pads nowadays? I've trawled the websites of the usual Mini suspects and they only seem to be listing the felt pad itself, with no textured vinyl covering?
Does anyone have any other sources i could look to getting one from at all? Any help gratefully received.
Cheers
Matt

Matt,
I think this is just felt backed Hardura. Widely used in the 60’s and earlier in many cars.
I’m sure one of the larger mini specialists or trimming company’s will be able to supply cut to size.

Ahh that's a name I've seen referenced on here before, makes sense now i've looked it up. I'll order the Minispares Felt first and then the hardura from a trim supplier and work my magic with the two before fitting.
Thanks Thorp

I do not how authentic it is compared to original but Minispares sell one.

I had one in mine but ended up getting rid of it as it was shedding faster than my golden retriever.
Cheers, Paul.

Ask for a Sample from Newton commercial as this may be ok, just needs trimming to suit

I made my own Original looking bulkhead soundproofing mat
This is for an Australian MK 2 Cooper S
I think you can get a better fit and get as close as you can with the original patten and finish.

Re: Mk2 Original Spec bulkhead soundproofing pad
Thanks for the replies so far.
I decided to purchase the Mini Spares bulkhead soundproofing felt, which was at least cut to size and patterned to fit the MK1/2 Minis. I assumed when it got here it would be just the actual felt and I would have to source a piece of Hardura material to make it look factory.
I opened the box today and this is how it looks..

Well chuffed with this, looks (as far as i can see) to be exactly the same as the factory finish.
Just thought i'd share this incase anyone else needs to source one in the future.
I'll get some pics up in the project thread when i've fitted it.
Cheers

Very tidy. looks good
Can you buy the mat without cuts or hole's from mini spares or their supplier?
