Hi all

anybody got a good contact to de rust and clean engine blocks ?

as near to Herefordshire as possible

Phosphoric acid is MUCH better.

about 20% at 20°C works brilliantly. will do a normally mucky block in 24 hours & is anti rust protected when it emerges.

A friend of mine in Texas is doing his dipped in vinegar? As the land of the free isn't so free when it comes to acid dipping.

The problem with using most acids is that unless they are neutralised immediately after dipping, they will rust like hell.

Interesting comparison of 5 acids for rust removal, by a Chemist.
Bit of a short experiment, and not much on neutralising....but still

Yes he is and it looks to be working, a video he sent me shows the vinegar doing a whirlpool impression so is doing something.

Be interesting to see how it comes out.
