Orange clutch diaphragm
As I have 850 JWA's engine / box in bits for a rebuild, I have bought a Minispares Borg and Beck Orange diaphragm to replace the 20 plus years old genuine Borg and Beck orange diaphragm currently fitted. Does anyone have any experience / opinion on these ? I'm only replacing as thinking that over the years the diaphragm may have lost pressure....?? I have a number of old genuine ones that visually look fine. Thanks, Dave

I have no experience of the new diaphragms available.
However you can always test/measure the clamping force your existing one gives and see if it acceptable.

This x1000, never assume the new stuff is all good to go as the suppliers state.
I've used new orange on my builds without issue, after checking they were engaged correctly but didn't have a way of testing the actual clamping force.
It held on fairly well but would slip if you chucked the full 140lbft at it in a rush.!

Just welded a socket to an old primary gear and tested my 1991 orange diaphragm with a worn out and slightly contaminated AP clutch plate. Horns were machined to give flat diaphragm when new but is now slightly bevelled due to worn clutch.
Slips at 110 lbs/ft using a recently calibrated torque wrench.
