Hello together,
is it correct that BL or Austin Rover produced a limited batch of special cranks for the Metro Cup Challenge?
I was told EN40 material, 12G1505 casting, A+ type radii ...
Myth or true story?
Is there a way to identify these?
Many thanks
Fabio

Re: Mythbusters - Metro Cup Crank
I'm reasonable sure that BL never made those, but Mini Spares did, in EN40B. There was just less than 1000 of these made, so I'd say there must be a few still kicking about.

Re: Mythbusters - Metro Cup Crank
Hello,
Thanks for the feedback.
Are they marked in any way? I have one that is black as the night and stamped 181. Is that the real thing?
Thanks

Re: Mythbusters - Metro Cup Crank
I'm not 100% certain of this, but I think they had a Mini Spares P/N or Mini Spares marking on them. I believe some were (also ?) stamped with the stroke, but no idea (if they were) if that was metric or imperial.

Re: Mythbusters - Metro Cup Crank
I have never seen one of the minispares EN 40B cranks with rolled fillet radius and would be very surprised if any were produced.

Think what you have is a1300 GT crank , 12G 1505 crank with cast number ground off and stamped12G 1817 but not always stamped very well it's a tuftrided crank

Re: Mythbusters - Metro Cup Crank
Ok,
That sounds like a plausibel explaination. Especially as it came out of a 1300 GT.
I will post some pictures.
