Hi
I’m thinking of going down the 7 port route for my big bore 1071 build ?
Anyone else gone this route ? What’s your thoughts
Cheers

I think the very fast, nicely patinad, blue Mk2 that regularly attends the Blyton action days is 7 port. Great car and a smashing bloke, who’s name has escaped me, sorry.

I'm building 2 SC 7 ports at the minute. Cast and billet.
Both are massively over sprung.
Whilst replacing with conical springs, a problem has arisen with the cast one.
The customer supplied an ACD RS+ cam that has 0.390 lift. SC recommend them....There is only 0.360 clearance between the bottom of the topcap and top of valve guide.
They are not a 'bolt on' item.

Every 7 port head I have seen has been either cast alloy rubbish or Chinese billit alloy rubbish.
Stick with an 8 port.

Manx heads are quite nice albeit hard to get hold of due to limited production?
