found rebuilt rear arm - but what year???

Post by AndyPen »

Before lockdown I collected a load of stuff and as it goes, never really checked through it. I may have posted this before too, but for the life of me cannot recall what mini it comes off. Extra holes for something?? Is it hydro with a shock mount pin fitted?

Anyone an idea what year this type were around? I think it originally came from Minisport, and has a refurb date stamped on it.

Note the complete lack of paint on the inside of the mounting plate by the way.

Here's the date stamp...

To me it looks like a wet arm modified to go on a dry car.

Not that it make much difference, but I’m not sure that’s a date stamp?
Does look like it was originally a wet arm.

Had a proper look today and found an old hydro arm to compare it too. Yes indeed, that is what it is, but with the wrong rear mount that was presumably fitted by whoever refurbished it. The other side was a correct dry arm, so goodness what they were up to???

Thanks the replies and especially the pms, I hadn't looked at a hydro set in ages despite owning a hydro car, but that's away from home at the moment so couldn't check against it ;-(
