Lower Dash Rail

Stripping car for restoration. What is the best method for removing the lower dash rail chrome strip and padding. ( mk3s )

Use a short block of wood and a small hammer on the chrome strip...the padded part..pull and pray!

Use of hairdryer on bottom rail covering to soften the adhesive and peel back very slowly a little at a time to prevent stretching if you are trying to save it.

On the Ford I used glue remover and it worked a treat.

As above. Carb cleaner will soften the glue. Try not to spray the plastic too much. It also works on the top rail covering.
