Is idler gear shaft a separate piece from the gear?

Is idler gear shaft a separate piece from the gear?
Wondering if shaft can be pressed out and swapped with one from another idler.

It is a separate piece, but I doubt you'd get them apart ! I've tired a few times, but ended up machining the shaft out. They must be assembled with a chilled shaft and a heated gear.
