MK1 Body Numbers

I am trying to protect my body number from blasting. Trouble is I cant find it! Its a May 64 shell so where should it be? picture might help.

That is spotted welded like a FE number I thought they were stamped/punched? I will have to go to the blaster but the front end is original with FE number on inner wing above radiator and cant remember seeing a tag like this could it be anywhere else?

Yes generally, except some export cars as below.

That very helpful those numbers show letters and numbers the Heritage certificate says only numbers.
Were letters added to export cars only?

yes a 1275 built May 4th 1964. mind you had a few owners before me but cant find an evidence of replacement panels and Fe number perfect?

Was it only 850 Morris (Cowley) cars that had stamping on the driver's side crossmember reinforcement?

Yes but a good way to check the shell is to see if there is a stamping there - often goes unnoticed:-)

The floor is actually the worst part of what is a remarkably sound shell so I will look in the morning. Regrettably as its for rallying I have decided to replace the whole floor.
