Which door check strap was fitted at the factory and which was an owner upgrade?
I am trying to install the proper strap to my 66 S.

I use your Top Photo type of Door Check Strap because with the Full Roll Cage fitted my standard check straps jam up against the installed roll cage & prevent good Door Closing .. but in the standard cars they use the flex type straps as in your second photo.
