Toe board

Post by Super60 »

Hi all,
Is it okay to repair the toe board or should the whole panel be replaced?
I’m aware it houses the steering rack and subframe mounts.
On my car the bottom 2 inches are rotten, where it joins the floor. I was thinking of buying a new toe board and cutting the lower part of the panel to use. The car also has the front end attached (and is solid) any advice appreciated thanks 😊

I see no reason at all to repair just the lower 2", providing the welds are good, rather than replace the whole panel, which is quite a big job.

If its only floor pan parts (not the tunnel area) then some folded sheet steel would be a much cheaper alternative to get the same end result.
