Morris Horn button Moto Lita

Post by Fab60 »

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone had fitted an original Morris horn button or aftermarket onto a MotoLita steering wheel?

Cheers

There is a specific boss to suit the Mk1 horn button

Thanks guys I wanted to get one to fit, I wasn’t sure if mine could fit an original mk1 horn push without and adapter or not. I don’t have an original in hand therefore wanted some advice.

Cheers

I think the B1 H is more of a generic moto-lita boss (standard size and holes) that will fit a number of different vehicles , including the mark 1 mini. It comes with a choice of either a horn push or plain plastic cover. Choice of plastic badges also. You should have one of these in the B1 -H kit.
However if you want to fit original mk 1 horn push gear you must buy the B 1-OE model, as pointed out by Timmy, which has the side drilling. (One of the most expensive!)
I don't know if there are any other differences between these two bosses. For instance I don't know if simply drilling a hole in the side of your boss would allow fitment of an original horn push.

I think the centre hole on the B1 OE is smaller to suit the BMC horn

Cheers guys! Thanks for the clarification. Now it’s time to get an actual horn button first then see what happens! Haha
