Hello Guys

I'm currently restoring a moke mk1

I'm looking for these sort of nuts that hold the grab handle

Does anyone knows where I could find it?

They are a bit of an odd one and to the best of my knowledge, they didn't use them in the Mini.

Have you tried M-Parts ? Bodge here on the forum (when he's about) would likely know.

are not the same as the mk1/2 door check strap ?
1/4” unf bolt...
As spider says well, ask m-part or m-machine.

These are 5/16" UNF.

I'll have to have a closer look at the Door Check Strap all the same. Ta.

Here's a better pic of the door strap ones before a repair Spider. Similar but smaller I think?

Very similar to the captive nuts in the seat cross member for the seat brackets.

If you have access to a lathe, you could turn some up, cut the end to make the ears and crimp them in.

But that might need a hefty crimper !

Thanks for the pic Andy - that's the type but wrong size.

Our locally made cars just had a strip of metal with tapped holes here.

T Nuts are similar, but are spot welded, though this looks more like a type of press nut

Hello Guys

I managed to find another area where it's fitted on a mini

The sill reinforcement bracket

If I buy the spare is it possible to remove it and to install it on my Moke?

Just checked and they are 3/8 UNC

Might be worth speaking to Doreen at MiniMachine though as they may be able to source them or make some 5/16 UNF ones for you.

For a relatively low impact part such as a grab handle, would a rivnut suffice for ease?

Thank you guys

Yes I could put a Rivnut but I would be as close as possible from the original species of the car

Is it possible to remove it from a spare?

Would these work? Flange might be too small.

Much as I am a great fan of M-Machine. MokeParts will be a much better bet for this.
