Mistery Input Gear
Hello,
anyone would recognize this input gear, without holes for the locktab washer ? never seen one...
This is similar to a 4 synchro 24 teeth... got it along with a ADO16 casing .
How would the 1st motion shaft nut would be locked ?!
Cheers
Luis

Loctite on the threads? Or maybe with a castellated locktab similar to what’s used on the output pinion to secure it on the mainshaft? How would the 1st motion shaft nut would be locked ?

Re: Mistery Input Gear
It does appear to have an ever so slightly different tooth profile.
Only a guess here, but I'd wonder if it came out of JKD.

Re: Mistery Input Gear
loctite could be an option, the castellated locktab i believe would not fit as the slots in the 1st motion shaft would need to protrude from face of the input gear and another type of nut used.Loctite on the threads? The teeth edge are definitely different, i've just checked if this could be from a spanish built gearbox but no, these also use input gears with holes for the locktab.
Ok i'll remain curious

Thanks All!

Re: Mistery Input Gear
Not JKD I think. I have an .916 Economy gear from them which used to be the mod to get longer gearing on an A series box and it shows fairly proper marking and holes

I don't know what these are off though. Same spec as Mini but posh end covers

and finally , what is this off ? Its a standard looking bonnet catch assembly but with an extra plate welded on. Part number doesn't seem to appear anywhere I can find. Just sold it to someone who didn't want or care about the extra bit in any case...

The output shafts are 59 mini parts . Grease nipples with no rubber gaiter .

Yes I know it’s not original
My wife says I don’t listen to her or something like that !

exactly , my 59 car has them! The output shafts are 59 mini parts . Grease nipples with no rubber gaiter .
That bonnet catch is nice, the pad should help releasing it and opening the bonnet.
Cheers

Re: Mistery Input Gear
I believe the odd hood latch is for Canadian export with smog pump.......
The pump, with it's pulley sits very high, and, very far forward, right about exactly where the bonnet latch is........would be easy to poke your fingers into the pulley, this plate prevents that......
Did smogged cars show up in England, or, were they just an export thing???

Re: Mistery Input Gear
Thanks for answers. It figures on bonnet catch
No smogged up cars here or ugly spud Canadian bumpers. The one thing that used to turn up here was Canadian Mk3 doors particularly on Clubman Estates . I remember scrapping them and finding they had some sort of side impact bars in them which meant they were stronger than UK ones. I assume the factory got stuck with them and put them on to get rid of

Re: Mistery Input Gear
The bonnet catch looks to be Canadian Mini spec, and if you'd consider parting with it I'd be VERY interested - my unique UK market Canadian-spec Mini will need a bonnet one day...
Metric is for people who can't do fractions.
