Alluminum radiators

Post by 360gts »

Considering an aluminum rad for the vintage race car...interested in hearing pros and cons from those who have them installed in their cars.
Fletcher seem to have a decent product...any other????
I should add...the car has a modified front rad at the moment...it actually over cooled the 1071 unit...we used to put some tape on the grille!
Now that I am upgrading from the 1071 to a 1293....thought we might need a better cooling setup...hence the consideration of a different rad.

I'm running the Radtech one with no issues. Seems to have cooling capabilities similar to the previously fitted ADO16 one that had a modern 2 row core fitted.

I have been running a fletcher on my race car, have not had an issue with cooling while running in Gimli, Sonoma or Portland. Only thing is that the welded nuts on the side are metric. I also had to grind a little of the fan shroud to clear the welds. Also nice that it has a drain,
