washer pump

Hi,

i have instal a new washer pump, because I was think the old didn't good work


But if I try it I don't work ? Isn't this good ? Is there a good alternative that you don't see ?

Have you removed it from the car?
If not, pull the hose from the jets, they may be blocked, and check if water is pumped.
If nothing, leave jets disconnected and remove pipe from pump. Blow through to check pipe isn't blocked.

If removed already, fit hoses to the pump and immerse them in a bowl of water, connect it to a battery and see if it works.

my old one is in the car, the tubes are good but it don't work. It's like it don't have enough power to put the water up.
Also I have a new from mini spares, I put this in a bowl water, but also there it don't work ?

it needs a foot valve to work, it's just an open bellows by itself........It just pumps air in and out of both tubes at the same time......

Foot valve is at the end of the hose in the bottom of the washer bottle........That hose needs to be hooked up to either tube on the pump.....

Love the hook it up to a battery suggestion........Funniest thing I've heard in years

"bwaminispeed" is saying you need to have a 1-way valve in the water bottle so the water can only go up the tube to the pump, then to the screen.

Sometimes, these 1-way valves have a spring that is too strong for the pump and they do not let the pump work.

Sometimes they have a one way valve in the T-piece that splits the single line from the pump to go to the two jets. Its just a ball bearing in there.

In using that type of pump, you musthave a non-return valve that fits inside the water bottle. Part number GWW506. If you dont have it all it will do is blow bubbles in the bottle !!!
