Battery Charger

Post by Charlynsane »

Hello Guys

There is always a car with a flat battery in the workshop so I would like to buy a battery charger/starter

I'm hesitating between two models

The GYS pack 400 and 750

what do you recommend?

The blue one is 18 amp hours and no gizmos, the grey one is 26 AH plus a torch & DVM.

I assume the grey one will about 1.5 x more expensive.

I'd get the blue one.

I wouldn’t spend my money on anything other than one of these:

Thank you guys for your advices

The noco pro is very nice but a little more expensive than the GYS400

I was wondering if the GYS400 was enough powerful to start a car with a flat battery

You can get the smaller NOCO versions for about the same money
Seriously, they are utterly awesome.

They are much, much smaller and lighter
Therefore much more portable
Despite their small size, they will start diesels and big engines.
They have huge capacity for multiple starts
They don’t need to be recharged after every use which you must do with a lead-acid type or the battery soon fails
They hold their charge for at least 6 months
You can charge other things like phones and computers

I’m not on commission but we use the big ones at work daily to start dead cars and I carry a smaller one on the rally service van.
