Rad Overflow Question

Post by Gary Schulz »

Does anyone have a picture of how the overflow pipe was run next to the radiator? Was curious where it was attached and if it used a
"P-clip" on one of the shroud screws. Also how far down it goes... I figured it would be best to get this sorted before installing the engine.

There’s a clip to attach the pipe to the cowl. ARA951

The raised area near the top and bottom bolts should have a slit for said clip.

If you don’t fit the clips, this is what happens when the pipe hits the fan...

(removed from my car, unfortunately. Damage caused by the previous owner just dropping the overflow pipe down the side of the rad, instead of clipping it in position)

Fittig the Clips is a bit difficult when the Engine is in because there is not much room...

Today, I've fitted a P clip to one of the bottom bolts. Had a clip at the top. Did not know they were available, thought it had broken off! Result!! :D
