Hi Lads,
I’m looking at buying an Ultrasonic Cleaner for cleaning car parts, like carbs etc. Anyone got any advice on what size and model and type of washing fluid to buy would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaner advice
I currently run 2 ultrasonics.
the large one is a 10 litre one that is really about the minimum practical size for any engine type parts. It is brilliant for carbs, master cylinders etc. I use gun wash / thinners in this one & try & keep the temperature down to around 35°C. Needless to say, it is essential that this is used in a well ventilated area !!!
I also have a small one that I use for mainly brass components like carb linkages, brake unions & the like. This is filled with "Clock Cleaning Fluid" an ammonia based concoction that brings brass up like new.
Personally, I wouldn't be without my ultrasonics & my only regret is that I didn't buy a larger one.

Re: Ultrasonic Cleaner advice
I have a 5 litre one which is OK for small stuff like carbs, but you can not fit an inlet manifold in it. Also some of the supposed cleaning fluids are not that great. The other thing is the noise, it can be a bit annoying if you a trying to concentrate on something else.
