Wet subs for dry suspension.... any mods needed?

Post by sandman »

Apart from the small brackets/flanges/tabs holding the hydroelements - are there any other mods needed to use a wet frame on an dry setup using dry arms and standard trumpets/struts ?

Someone mentioned to me that the rear frame migth need some cutting??
Cheers,

when i converted my car i just bent the little tabs out the way

no welding required on the rear frame.

the only reason you would do any welding on the rear, would be, i guess to fit the steel 'bump' parts that go behind the rubber cone to stip it going into full compression - as these are not really needed (unless your doing some serious rallying) i wouldnt worry about it - you would probably wreck your shocks before the radius arms could bend back that far

Rich,

Did you use i-lo's or std. trumpets?
From what I can see the [coneshaped] longitudal "slots" inside/behind the trumpets are smaller on a wet sub... A friend of mine was told he had to cut this... does he?

the hole in the rear frame is bigger so the displacer fits, but this doesnt alter the way the rubber cone or the hilo/ally trumpet fits.

on the front the rubber cone and the trumpet goes in as per the dry, so no change
