Does anywhere sell this bracket?

It's the one that goes between the one that holds the engine mount and the one that holds the radiator.

Or should i bend up a std 850 one?

thanks guys,

James

Minispares sell them... however the last one I bought was not 100% correct when compared to an original... the angles and height varied some.

Bob does the ones to convert your std bottom rad cowl to an S one, but not the bracket in question.

Excuse my ignorance but when I built up my 1300 engine (preA+ block), I used a standard 850 cowling and the bottom bracket it came with, with no apparent problems. Could this be why I cannot keep it cool?

I made a bespoke top bracket and two small spacers on top of the thermostat housing for the top end.

YMJ, The bracket won't have anything to do with your cooling problems.

the diferent bracket for an S is simply to move the "bracketry" under the bottom cowl away from the bottom pulley, the cowl and therefore radiator are in exactly the same place for an S or an 850.

You could use the S setup on any mk1, but try using an 850 setup on an S, and those bolts that go thru the rubber gromets will be hard against your bottom pulley.

Perhaps Somerford can help... ?

Although the illustration is incorrect - the part number and description matches the S-version..

Oh - I was dead certain I bought one of Minispares some (5-6) years ago.... but my memory might playing tricks on me.
