Croft Nostalgia Weekend & Historic Race Meet 6th/7th August

Post by cookie1071 »

If you've not seen from the MCR forum, the Newcastle & Durham Region of the club will be putting on display of cars at this event, there to watch the racing and see the other attractions, of which there are many ;) .

http://www.croftmilitary.co.uk/
http://forum.minicooper.org/showthread.php?t=14577

If you fancy coming along and have a car that's over 20 years old you can get in for FREE (yes free!), just fill in the form on the link below:

http://www.sacarr.co.uk/croft/classiccar2011.pdf

If you havent then jump in with someone who has or come anyway as it really is an excellent day out.

Cheers, Niall.

This is a great event which was run for the first time last year. All the grids were full on both days, there were many car clubs with displays and an area for individuals to show their classics. There was also a large military display with many of the spectators wearing period dress and entering into the spirit of the event.

There realy is something for everyone

A mate of mine is running his historic Formula Ford in it so look to be coming anyway, maybe not in the Mini though. We'll see.

Spoke to Maurice Jennings (the orgainser) this evening and apparently the display area is a sell out, which is great news. 8-) ;) It does mean however that if you're plannng on pitching up, buying a ticket and expecting to join the masses of other classic cars you might well be disappointed.

Just got new engine back in toy and it runs, so I've put in for an entry a bit late

Just got to get it run in and we should be in business for next weekend

Bit of a hectic schedule so may be asking for help between races to inject enough red bull

I'll be attending this event not in a Mini, but in my Jeep with my Son Adam.

It would be great to see anyone who makes it up there.

But please don't take the piss of my soldier costume

Please PM me for my mobile number if you fancy meeting up.

Many thanks to the Mini Cooper Register for allowing us to share their parking spot :D It was a really good day, which I look forward to next year.

It was a really good day

Apart from the constant & unremitting rain that almost drowned Adam & I.

There's nothing like snuggling down into a soaking wet sleeping bag at 2 in the morning to fill you full of the joys of the British summer.

It was however good to catch up with a few members who spotted me in deep disguise
