Why is my new miniworld mag...

Printed on toilet paper?

I understand the need to save costs but this is a cut too far.

I noticed that..........new publisher means new printer maybe? Although my last Modern MINI magazine (also by Kelsey) was on the usual paper but then it does have less pages than Miniworld for the same price.

Looking at the thread on Specialist mini forums it looks like the paper will be changed back for the next issue due to 'reader feedback' ;)

I don't read mini specific magazines, but the last time I bought 'Classic cars' magazine I noticed a distinctly cheap feel to the paper.

The cost of magazines has got so silly- I used to buy 4 or 5 every month (C&SC, Classic Cars, Motorsport, Octane and sometimes 'camper and bus' or classics 'for a change') and a while back I made the decision only to buy C&SC and Octane as they were the most interesting, with M'sport if it features something really good.

saves £10-£15 per month

From Miniworld ed:
"Thanks to subscribers who contacted us about the poor paper quality in the May issue. The publishers were told that the new paper would be of the same quality as previous issues and it clearly isn't. So the paper quality will return to that of previous issues for the June issue onwards. There's some great content in the May issue (on ...sale tomorrow) so please bear with us."

The publishers will be trying to save money and will have asked the printer if they could do anything. The printer would have managed to save them some money but now the quality is shit. Happens all the time in my line of work. Cut corners and expect to get a shit product.
