Off topic section. . .Waht do you think.

Post by mk1 »

Since we lost one of or most prolific posters to the "off topic weird & wonderful section" it is not attracting many posts now.

What do members think about abolishing this specific section & using the general section in its place?

This will go some way to consolidating the forum & ensuring that people get a chance to see as many interesting posts as possible.

All comments are welcome.

I wouldn't miss the off topic section if you merged it, I barely look at it.

Hmmm I browse through there often enough, but yeah without the constant, *ahem* spamming, I think merging it into the General area is a logical idea.

Yep, no worries as I always read every post no matter where they are posted.

My efforts to provide a few interesting or relevant New MINI posts and news updates occasionally did not go down very well with a few of the members on here.......even when posted in the "off topic weird & wonderful section" so won't some such subjects cause similar upset in the more General Chat?

The official line on MINI stuff is that they have been around for 10 years now & it's about time people got over it.

I for one have no objection to this type of post & "healthy debate" is always a good thing.

No problems here Mark. As posted above, I view all active topics until all the yellow icons change colour just in case I miss something. :geek:

Not enough tits 'n' arse in the Off topic section for my liking. 8-)

I read (in this order) Historic racing; General Chat; Technical; For sale; Wanted; Projects, etc.

I really do give a stuff, Marky. Mk1 forum is my life :ugeek:

Why would there be a need to post off topic stuff? I'm here to read about Minis.

Having said that, if it provides an outlet for those who can't resist posting pointless youtube links or right-wing political commentary then it has a place. I don't bother to look in there anymore.

Yes it is a bit slow now I won't miss the off topic section.

The pictures section hasn't really worked in my view either if you are planning changes.

That had crossed my mind too.

Anyone else have thoughts on the PICTURES section?

A thread with pictures of MKI/II/III is great, but 3 sections are useless, IMO.

I like the fact that completely off topic discussion has it's own home..... There's too many threads to keep track off here already - adding alot of O/T "BS" will just make it worse - for me.
Cheers,
