Hi,reading 36 inter's post on 26/06/17 regarding confusion over the components making up these assemblies,I find my
self in a similar situation.Have purchased 3 N.O.S 22A1071 assemblies all feature 22A1781 hubs , 2 with part nos 22g439(one stamped the other etched) on the sliding gear and one with 22G92 stamped on it.Sorting through all my used gearbox parts I have found a few hubs marked 22G250 ,one with what appears to have a "B" TYPE 1st gear fitted.I think this was in an early Cooper 998 gearbox with "A" TYPE 2nd/3rd/4th gears. My question is should I use the 22A1781 hub in the 22G333 casing? The cooper 998 probably had a 22G68 casing but unsure about mainshaft details when using "A"TYPE gears. Thankyou

Re: 3 synchro 1st/2nd gear hubs
Or what about getting the parts list out first and positively identifying the part numbers you have against the parts list. This will take all the guess-work and '.....I think.....' out of the querie. Once you have that, you will then positively identify the mainshaft and the answer to the main querie.

Re: 3 synchro 1st/2nd gear hubs
I too have a NOS BMC firts gear hub and gear marked 22G250 in it’s original box which is marked 22G359. I cannot find reference to either numbers on Google.. Can anyone enlighten me (I want to list it for sale..
Re: 3 synchro 1st/2nd gear hubs
22G359 is a "B" type 3-synchro hub. This was one of many versions (no 4 of 5?) of the "B" hub that BMC produced
