Linread Switch

I have a Linread switch where the spring loaded sleeve is jammed down in the housing. I've tried soaking it in WD, tapping it with a hammer and applying a small amount of heat with no luck. Any experts on refurbishing these ?.

Can you rotate it as may be caught up inside, if it's as solid as it sounds from description though may not be salvageable

The sprung sleeve is fully depressed flush with the domed body so there's no way of getting a hold of it to pulk it out. It's probably scrap but seeing how much these cost i thought it would be worth trying to fix it.

Disassembled it but had to destroy the nylon insulator block on the end of the pin. Freed off the spring sleeve. I'm trying to reconstitute the insulator with araldite. A lot of hassle for such a small part.

Intervening period tells its own story perhaps. Sounds like a good lockdown project though, one of mine has died so might take a look.

If the araldite does not work try this stuff its very adaptable and insulates
We use it for custom work knife handles amongst other things
There are lots of suppliers in various quantities and colours
Its generic name is Polymorph

Temperatures given in degrees Fahrenheit be careful not to try Celsius

I honestly can't remember if I managed to fix this, it was for my dad's Triumph 1300.
