If I didn't love working on these things it would get old. I work on classic minis only and have been working mostly on later roll up window cars recently. I have a very nice Inno Cooper in the shop. It came in with no brakes and the brake light staying on. Not being a Inno type I'm not sure what brakes it had from factory. I will tell you what I did find once on jack stands. Opened the bonnet to find a drum brake master installed backwards. The twim SUs had punched a hole in the master can and let all the fluid out. Pulling all the wheels and rear drums I found 7.5 Cooper S fronts and spaced drums rear with 3/4 wheel cyls. and the rear shoes were backed off to the point I don't think they were doing anything. I removed the master repaired the hole in the can and replaced it right way around. It appears the master is bad and it would not pressurize the system. I pulled it and replaced with a late plastic can master. THe car is fitted with a servo. Master changed and the fronts had pressure and were able to bleed quickly. My concern is while under the car bleeding the brakes each time the pedal is pressed lightly or with more effort there is a click or a clang from the rear sub frame mounted bias valve. The pedal is about half way down and firm but these id no pressure at the rear bleeds. The owner does not know anything about what has been done to the car.
My suggestion is to order correct rear wheel cyls and what ever brakes parts needed to freshen the brake system. I can't help but wonder if someone has done something to the bias valve to reduce rear brake lock up. I'm open to thoughts or ideas as to why the noise from bias. Thanks Steve (CTR)

Re: Inno MK3 Cooper brakes
The valve normally makes noise if the cylinders are big, and adjustments are off
