I am not sure why, but I appear to have stopped getting notifications when new PM's arrive...
Maybe I've "broken" my profile, but I can't see where this would be.

Before I start pestering Mark F., I thought that I'd just check to see if I am alone with this problem.

i did check the other day that its ticked, which it was, i used to get an email, but the last 2-3 PM's i have not.
i just thought it was just a glitch, or since mark has had to update the forum space etc. it might just need unticking and re-ticking again, ( reset)

Same thing for me - I haven't received notifications of PM for quite some time, even checked my spam filter and no email.

The last PMs I had, which were sent 11 days ago I received emails. I also get a Pop Up when I log on to the forum.

In case anyone is unsure how to set the notifications here's a quick run through

1 Click on User Control Panel at the top right
2 Click on Board Preferences and Edit Global Setting

Click on your preffered settings

3 Click Submit

I've not been getting any notifications for anything for the last 6 weeks . Seems Like my hotmail account wont let any mk1 notifications through.
It's helping with my mk1 addiction though!

I got an email last Wednesday on the last PM I received. Have you checked the "junk" folder in your email? Sometimes they will get sorted by your email provider. You could also try adding the automated Mk1 forum email address to your contacts... mark@mk1-forum.net

I get them fine, but am aware that a (very) few members seem to have this problem. I strongly believe that their non arrival is down to the users (or possibly their ISP's) Spam filters as when I was given the opportunity to "hijack" another members account & change the notification settings I received the messages OK.

I have also discussed this with the forum suppliers Tech Support team & they cannot see anything within the forum that could be causing this.

I will take this up with Tech Support again. But if it is the outgoing mail that is blocked by your spam filter or that of your ISP changing your email address may not help.

I just did the same thing, even though I checked my original email's "spam" folder via a browser and found nothing adrift.

Two things:
1) If you change your email address on the forum, your account will be deactivated, then re-activated. You will get an email telling you that this is happening.
2) Having changed my email address to use my "other" one, and after the above procedure had taken place, I am now getting notifications again.

For anyone not getting notifications, it might be worth trying this out if you have a spare address.
