I always fancied spraying my Cooper S in Connaught Green. It is a lovely colour but very dark - almost looks black a lot of the time. The more sunlight, the more green it looks. It was never a standard factory colour on the Mini although goodness knows why not. In the end I chose Old English White with a Connaught Green roof but I don't think anyone ever noticed as everyone just assumed it was black! I do have some photos of it but in all of them it just looks like a black roof!
I know at work we sold quite a few Connaught Green BMC 1100s and 1300s to people who assumed they were black
The MG versions in OE White/Connaught Green 2-tone always looked great I thought 8-)

my sports coop is GN18 originally and its a very dark green, a mini would look great in it in my opinion.

it is almost black in some light, but in sun the green starts to shine through

(please note, if your looking at photos of my car, the outside of my car isn't Connaught, its 'one off old man green' )
should you wish, you can contact me on rich@minispares.com

The roof of my car looks black in all the photos I have :(
The best photos I've seen of a Mk1 in Connaught Green are probably those on the Mini Cooper Register forum. Look there under "Projects" and then for the title "1966 Morris Cooper S" by mmalleck. This car (still undergoing restoration?) has been sprayed this colour. The restoration - and photography - is to a very high standard 8-).
