I am looking for advice on what new wiring loom to purchase for my modified 1965 Elf, that will require the least amount of botching!!!

Spec of Car
1965 Elf Centre 3 clocks
Side lights (As standard Elf)
Alternator
Pre Engaged Starter
Electric Fuel Pump
Ideally I would like to fit a Tacho & 2 speed Wipers

why don't you just special order a loom direct from autosparks that has all your requirements ready built in.

A couple of years ago I had auto spark make me a loom for a mk1 S , alternator , and wired for a Innocenti dash ! ... They wired it for early or late rev counter as well . All the extra wiring cost was £25 , bargain . I never got round to using it and sold it to a fella who said everything worked fine .... They did this work based on some close up pictures I emailed them on the back of the clocks ........ken

While none of your requirements are particularly onerous if you want to retain a cotton-covered loom I also advise getting Autosparks to do it all.

If you already have a taped loom then maybe go for it yourself. A later model car, say 1984 onwards would have all required bits already in the front harness. That loom would have modern plastic plugs for switches and stalks, and nothing for an electric fuel pump. Wouldn't the Elf's rear harness already have provision for a lecy pump ??

I've been working on a 1935 Austin 7 Ruby recently with a new Autosparks loom, and it just fits and works as it should. They do great products at a very reasonable cost IMHO.

Rapidfit looms is another option, I've heard lots of good things about them although they do seem a little more expensive than autosparks, I am about to order a new loom for my mk2 cooper and haven't decided where to get mine from as yet?
