Hi, I have cleaned up my black mk2 cooper seats and whilst in overall very good condition there are 2 splits/snags in the vinyl. The material is all there. Probably caused by a key or screwdriver. I need to repair it. What repair kits or systems do people recommend?
The other problem I have is the Mk2 padded dash rail has a couple of shallow dents in it. Any suggestions for a way of reviving this too? Cheers. Mark

Re: Vinyl repairs
I used the vinyl repair kit available from Frosts. The "Grained" paper supplied in the kit for the vinyl repair doesn't match the grain on the BMC vinyl very well, but for the price the results are reasonably good.

Re: Vinyl repairs
if the tear or rip is long, it is beneficial to access the underside of the vinyl and use vinyl glue to bond a piece of fabric across the back. Once that is cured, you can use the kits InimiaD mentioned. The larger such kits contain templates to create multiple grain types. They also contain multiple colors of vinyl which can be mixed to create an approximate match to the color on your seats. Of course... most black vinyl will be close enough apart from the gloss level.

I've used one of Frosts' kits, the result was perfect & the repair lasted for years.
