970 Experts

Post by 360gts »

Just doing some research on this 970 basket case I have here.
It appears this car (late Aug 64) had the oil filter warning light installed.....
That would mean a different speedo as well. The speedo that came with the car is 120MPH with 5 warning lights...and a voltage stabiliser.
Any 970 owners out there with a late 970 who could verify this.

Never seen one like this...
Any chance of a photo, for us "dial-nerds"?

From what I have seen of earlier models, the oil filter lamp was the
second of the two amber coloured lamps which are on either side
and above the ignition and high beam lamps. I didn't know that there
was a speedo with 5 lamps, later ones may have had a green
"indicators" lamp, but surely at this age, the lamp for this would have
been on the end of the stalk?

Made an oopsy...looked at the wrong speedo....the one that came with the 970 has 4 lamps...but it has a stabilizer over the hole where the green lamp would be...no lamp there...just a hole.
It has the later fuel gauge that goes with a voltage stabilizer..

Any chance of a "full-frontal"?

I'm very interested in what the gear markers for this speedo are,
as per my post:
