Cooper 998 block same as regular 998?

Post by rolesyboy »

Hi Folks, I used to know this sort of thing but memory fading nowadays. Is the block on a 998 Hornet the same as a 998 Mk1/2 Cooper? I know the pistons on a Cooper have the D-shape but pretty sure the blocks are all the same. Can anybody confirm that please.
Cheers. Mark

Block is the same as 998 Cooper, head & pistons are different.

Yeap, even the crank and rods were the same, but the cam was different (AEA630).
