Had your mini out in the snow yet?

Post by cookie1071 »

The gearbox may be whining like fook  and the car's only got crappy Falkens on the front  but she's still getting me about OK in the snow ;) as this pic from a few days ago shows..

Hejsan Anders,

Does the name Steen Gudmansen say anything to you??
he was a famues ice racer in the 60ies, racing Saab,s before BMC Denmark Hijacked him ;) .

When racing in Swden & Norway, did he always bring tyres for the other drivers, as he had access to some better studs, or something?? or maybe it was the way he put them in ??
not shure, but anyway he sold many many tyres in those days, so maybe your set was made by him??
I have a friend who also has one of these sets, he scared the "sheit" out of a former Danish saloon car Champ, when he took him for a ride, on the local ice covered roads ;) he couldnt belive the grip they had.

I took my son (25 years old and racefan also) out for a ride last winter and he almost wet his pants when we come to the first corner..............Dad we are going to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But as you say, the grip is wild really! You can drive faster on snow then you can on gravel!!

Sorry fore my very bad English

Proper winter tyre! 4.40"by10" with 7/8" spikes. The 4,786 final drive was homologated for the Cooper S specially for these. Wheel is an early riveted one.The you have to find a lake with ice thick enough.

PUNK ROCK LIVES! 8-) , mini style. Love to go to an ice lake race. Must be a hell of an experience. Our weather has let us down, it was looking good last month, but now it is back to rain and fog, and any iced lakes has already melted!
