rocker shaft bungs

Post by 5portsrock »

Hi,

removed the bungs in the rocker shaft for cleaning. Does anywhere sell these? Or is it a case of making them?

Thanks

I have never heard of them being available as a separate part. M

The ones that go in either end to stop the oil from "falling out". TBH, I have never heard of anyone removing them before today.

Why not buy a new shaft? They are only £12.00 inc vat from minispares, not worth messing about.

I has assumed that this was a new shaft that had had the bungs removed. If it is an old one then I agree, throw it away 7 use a new one. I never do a top end / engine rebuild & keep the shaft, as far as i am concerned its a replaceable item.

Hi,
yes it is a new shaft.
I've previously had some maching swarf come out of the oil hole prior to assy. So i now remove the bungs to remove any internal burrs and make sure its clean. :D
Just trying to save a bit of time making the bungs.

Sounds like a good plan if you have successfully found it before.
