Can anyone tell me whether any of the Coopers or S'es were ever factory fitted with a chrome handbrake lever? I can't find a reference to it in the bible and have never seen one on an unrestored unmolested car, so my guess is no.
But, there are people selling these

If these are not Cooper or in fact Mini gear levers, what do they belong to?
Thanks

Elf's and various 1100/1300
I've always wondered why the chrome handbrake never made it onto the factory coopers, maybe they did it on purpose to try and create an urban legend similar to the 'mk3 s had solid blocks'.....

I used to search the scrap yards in the 1970's with fellow Mini enthusiasts looking for those elusive chrome handbrakes (and gear levers) from upmarket Elfs/Hornets and 11/1300's.

I put one on mine as I had one and I think it looks better with the chrome gearstick, even if it's not right!
