Window catch 'seals'

Refitting the sliding windows etc...........on the catches , should there be a 'rubber washer' underneath the external, chrome, domed nut(the one that the philips screw goes into!)?

Does anyone make channels that are the right width the current ones I have slide well but the chrome sits a little proud of the door..
I've got a 69 Mini with a 1046, Cooper Head and a four on the floor.
