Points to electronic ignition?

My 61 mini minor is positive earth with dynamo.... Is there a best way to convert from points to electronic ignition? Been told can only use lumenition kit due to earth positive. Also told its been dicontinued due to reliability problems. Any advice on best way to convert?

If you really want to leave the car positive earth you don't have many choices. The only other one I am familiar with is the positive earth Pertronix Ignitor, LU-142AP12. That will fit a Lucas 25D4 distributor. I assume that's what your '61 has and not the earlier DM2... or later 45D distributor.

If you are not firmly committed to keeping the car positive earth, convert to negative earth and a lot of possibilities open up for you regarding most electrical accessories.

CSI make full electronic Distributors in Pos and Neg, that way you can keep your old standard unit and only have one extra wire, I've got one and had excellent service from Rene.
