Re: Radius arm shrouds
I have also been looking to buy the correct screws for mine.
Looking at some of the mark 1's at the NEC Classic car show a couple of weeks ago I noticed they were fixed with hexagon head bolts which doesn't look right.
I think they should be dome head pozi drive screws.
Is there someone on here who sells original style screws?

Re: Radius arm shrouds
I think the UK cars were same as Aust in this dept. They had a self tapper, 10 guage, with a flat washer.

Re: Radius arm shrouds
Not sure if later cars were different to earlier cars but my '60 has 1/4 UNF phillips head set screws, same as the set screw that fixes the hinge to the door.
The originals were still attached to the car when I got it.

Re: Radius arm shrouds
I have two sets of shrouds, one set larger than the other. I can't remember which set were for my '59. Any help?

Re: Radius arm shrouds
Ian, any idea when in late '60 ? Is there a recorded change point ?STG95F wrote:I think it was when they changed the shroud shape . so late 60 but not 100%
My car has the later type shrouds but I have a NOS early one in the garage for fitment if correct.

Re: Radius arm shrouds
Hi Andrew ,
I don't 100% know when they changed . Bill Bell is the man that would tell us that
But i can take the NOS one you have off your hands

Re: Radius arm shrouds
I've been trying to work out the correct shroud and fixings for my own car too, which has long-since lost the originals.
The illustrations in the various Mk1 parts books all show the two-hole shrouds.
My late-edition AKD3509 Cooper & S parts book shows the shrouds on dry-suspension cars as being secured by 1/4" UNF pan pozi screws, but shows the hydrolastic cars as having shrouds with No 10 UNF screws.
Earlier editions of AKD3509 show both types with 1/4" UNF screws, and there's no change in the part numbers of the shrouds (14A6615/6) to reflect any difference in the mounting hole diameters.
So, nothing too conclusive here

Re: Radius arm shrouds
Anyone know if the shrouds were fitted to all mark 1's including the basic/ standard models?

Re: Radius arm shrouds
Came across these pics of a friends 61 , seems to suggest some sort of captive fixing for the outer screw position.

It's like a rabbit hole sometimes when you try to unravel BMC part life cycles.

Re: Radius arm shrouds
I've been able to answer my own question about what models the shroud fitted...it was indeed all mk1s!
