You asked about removing chrome . OK when a part is re-chromed they remove the existing chrome by dipping ,So I guess this is the way to go, you are in luck as there is company at Mexboruogh called prestige plating ,Rotherham phone number ( Google ) it, take your parts down to them and talk to Diane , she is well clued up and will sort you out, you will need to strip the parts but again Diane will tell you what to do , I had some parts chromed awhile ago and can recommend them
